ABOUT US
Columbus Power Elite is an All-Star cheer organization on its sixth successful competitive season. We are located at the Columbus Gymnastic Center in Columbus, Indiana. Columbus Power Elite has cheer teams, stunt groups and individuals. Pee wee levels practice in the gym 2.5 hours a week, youth levels practice four hours a week and the senior levels practice five hours. All cheerleaders receive one hour a week of tumble training. Columbus Power Elite cheerleaders compete at approx. 9 competitions a year located in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Illinois. Tryouts are held in February, practices begin in March and competitions are from September to the following February. All Columbus Power Elite cheerleaders perform in two to three hometown exhibitions and participate in hometown parades. Approx. one to two weeks prior to the first competition the Columbus Power Elite cheerleaders perform an exhibition at their Power Expo (located at Columbus Gymnastic Center) for family members, friends, neighbors and anyone else who wishes to attend. In the past, Mayor Fred Armstrong attended and was so grateful to deliver a teamwork speech and assist in handing out teamwork metals from the coaches to all Columbus Power Elite cheerleaders.
Columbus Power Elite cheerleaders showed the community how they can help
others from many miles away! Collecting over $1,800.00 for the victims of hurricane
Katrina and presenting it to the director of the local Red Cross at the “2005” Power Expo.
Every year is new and exciting! From fundraising for booster club money to making shakers &
posters at spirit parties, having x-mas gift exchange, hosting spaghetti dinners & cheer clinics, to
all cheerleaders receiving a trophy at the end of season banquet! The calendar is always full of
excitement!
As a member of Columbus Power Elite all cheerleaders become a part of a program that encourages
training for excellence in a family atmosphere where all members and
coaches are expected to have and maintain positive attitudes, a high degree of motivation,
determination, drive, pride, a belief in oneself and others, a commitment to setting and achieving
high goals, and a willingness to learn and grow as a cheerleader and individual!
